dad
I had a great visit with my mom and dad and my mom's side of the family yesterday for Thanksgiving. I love my parent's house in Harwich, and I love that they love it.
This was sort of a throw-away shot. I was trying to show how a bounce card on a flash can add a nice twinkle to people's eyes. Ended up with a really nice picture of my dad too.
My dad is one of the hardest working people I've ever met. I admire how much he loves his job and I can only begin to imagine the amount of lives he's made better. My sister is expecting her first baby in May and couldn't be luckier to have one of the best pediatrician's in the world as her dad.
Yesterday was a great reminder of how lucky I am to have two wonderful parents. Happy Thanksgiving indeed!

This photo was taken on Improv Asylum's NXT cast for promotion of their new show, "Nightmare on Hanover Street."
Jeremy Brothers, the director of the show, wanted to create some moody lighting for these shots. I ended up lighting everyone with one strobe at the feet of the folks in the first row with a shoot-through umbrella.

NXT Cast
This photo was taken on Improv Asylum's NXT cast for promotion of their new show, "Nightmare on Hanover Street." The show starts on Sunday night at 8:00 and will run for around 4 months.
Jeremy Brothers, the director of the show, wanted to create some moody lighting for these shots. I ended up lighting everyone with one strobe at the feet of the folks in the first row with a shoot-through umbrella. I was happy with the way it turned out. Jeremy Brothers was also the make-up artist for the shoot and applied drops of blood to everyone's face. I made the blood pop a bit more by applying a black and white adjustment layer in Photoshop and then painted over the drops of blood with black on the layer mask to reveal the red color again.
