Central Park and its Western Escarpment by Richard-.
New York City. The wall of buildings on Central Park West rises precipitously over the treetops of Central Park in late afternoon sun.

Yes, Richard, a very cool image. I like the way you've emphasized the line of buildings rimming the park.

I've read from National Geographic a long time ago that the value of real estate in Manhattan are higher even if you only have a glimpse of Central Park from it. This must be a valuable real estate you're in :)

Thank you all. There was a railing running around this rooftop that made things a bit tough.

Alex: Yes, this building is, shall we say, "very nice." I have no clue how young people can afford to live anywhere in New York City let alone places like these.

Richard, this picture reminds me of the fact that however huge you are you cant mess with nature. The subtle stop of buildings for the greenery is like a warning nature gives us when we pull it too far.

Wonderful view of the city, Richard. Maybe if NYC embraces green buildings, as they have dabbled with, those wonderful trees will begin to emerge from the more cemented part of the city.

Again . . . this wonderful and breathtaking!

Dilip: Good point. However, in this case, Central Park came after some of the buildings. It's a huge rectangle right in the middle of Manhattan.

n: thanks.

NyY: Yep, it counts for a lot. I was in NY again today. Always great to be there. I'd rather, however, have been in Rome! That counts for something I'm sure.

Thanks VolaVale. I was up on a rooftop shooting between some railing. I think I'll try to get back there at night sometime if I can, this would be great with lights or maybe even a long exposure with tail lights streaking....
