Lewis Alexander King Lockhart
If you want to get ahead, get a hat... [and a horse..!]
[Gill]: Lewis Alexander King Lockhart [1884-1931], known as Alex, was the husband of my great grandmother, Minnie Smith [1880-1928], and stepfather to my grandmother, Minnie Smith Purtell [1900-1947].
Minnie was born in Manchester and Alex came from Hexham in Northumberland. They were married in Kilkeel, Co. Down, Ireland in 1913 and moved to Devon after the First World War.
This photo was taken in Plymouth and dates from the early 1920s.
