Stonehenge

Stonehenge

The light on this stone drew me immediately to it. I do not believe I have done it justice to what it looked like, as I stood in awe in front of it.

Worth viewing huge.

Stonehenge

Stonehenge

I was up early yesterday and arrived at Stonehenge at 8.00am. How lucky was I the sun came out at 9.00.

The true meaning of this ancient, awe-inspiring creation has been lost in the mists of time. Was Stonehenge a temple for sun worship, a healing centre, a burial site or perhaps a huge calendar? How did our ancestors manage to carry the mighty stones from so far away and then, using only the most primitive of tools, build this amazing structure? Surrounded by mystery, Stonehenge never fails to impress.

Reported in the Gardian weekend 18/19 Feb 2012.....Stonehenge was based on a 'magical' auditory illusion, says scientistThe layout of Stonehenge matches the spacing of loud and quiet sounds created by acoustic interference, new theory claims. www.guardian.co.uk/science/2012/feb/16/stonehenge-based-m...

Stonehenge is owned by the Crown and managed by English Heritage, while the surrounding land is owned by the National Trust.

Look closely to spot the other guys, it wiill give you a good idea of the height of the stones.
