M.P. Tench lens

M.P. Tench was an assistant to Dallmeyer, until he left and set up a shop of his own making photographic equipment.

This lens is a doublet at the front, with a rotating aperture about 3cm behind the lens. It is about 150mm in focal length. Typically would have been used for landscapes on 1/2 plate I'd guess. Quite a nice item, but not in perfect condition. Might it have had a screw on lens hood at some stage? I got it, hoping its focal length was longer and that it might cover 10x8. But it doesn't.

13th October 2012. Olympus E420 with 14-42mm kit lens.
