1958 Agfa Silette LK

1958 Agfa Silette LK

New (to me) 1958 Agfa Silette LK.

The LK was one of the cheaper of the many Silette versions. This is a little better than some, in that it has an f/2.8 Color-Apotar lens and a selenium light meter, which even seems to work.

This is a viewfinder camera. Better Silettes (Super-Silette and variants) were rangefinders, and there was even one style with interchangeable lenses (Ambi-Silette).

The LK came in three basic body styles, of which I am pretty sure this is the first (1958) type.

Apart from a sticky self-timer (red lever at bottom) and what I think is a missing ISO/ASA selector ring (under the knurled film rewind knob to the right), it seems to work perfectly. Some of the lens coating is missing, and there's certainly some dust in the workings, but nothing that obviously shows up on film.

Photos are in this set.
