My First Bunka

My First Bunka by Reyney.
By me! I made her based on the traditional Japanese instructions. But, since the instructions were written in Japanese, I'm not sure if I followed them precisely.

AND since I still don't know how to use my sewing machine very well, I'm still learning as I go.

Thank God for Fabri-Tac!

Look at this!! Renee ... if I didn't know any better I would guess you have sewn all your life! You are brave for taking on dolly challenges being so new with the sewing machine ... yet look at those results! You obviously good at all things crafty. Teaching yourself how to chrochet and now making such sweet bunkas!!! <3
P.S. Can I ask where you got the pattern???

Thank you Jana!

It's in a Japanese doll pattern book. I wish I could tell you the name, but it's in Japanese. LOL I bought the book on Ebay last week - and I didn't even know there would be a Bunka pattern in it!! Lucky me!

I ditto Jana precisely! Self-taught is always the best taught... never mind that you're a teacher, hee hee.
Look at the precious little feet even!

Ah - Bekah - thank you!!

SuperJunk - ooh---I did not use a red book---but now I'm curious.

It was a peach book with stuffed veggies on the cover. Who would have thought there would be a bunka pattern inside!! (c;

WOAH! Renee!!!!!
Mind ='s BLOWN!!!!!!

You have been hiding some pretty damn amazing sewing skills inside you all this time, hey?! I look at this & it's hard to believe you didn't come straight out of the womb with a sewing machine attached to your arm like an extra appendage!

Jeez! There you were a few months ago simply desperate to find somebody to make you a Bunka when you had Bunka makin' skills secretly in you all along! You must be pleased as punch with yourself. She is completely marvie, perky and dainty and stitched to per-freakin-fection!

P.S. I received your beyond gorgeous Valentine card in the post and just totally gasped and clutched my heart from your total kindness. I can't recall whether I had the chance to let you know yet, so this is me doing so now. You are out of this world, sweet Renee! xox!

She is amazing! A miracle too! Because I don't know how to sew. I ran out of thread on the little bobbin. Forget how to wind it. Need to look it up! LOL

oh dear, don't let an empty bobbin stop you! hopefully your machine has a nice easy drop-in bobbin. I'm always yelling at mine for ejecting thread into my lap.
