Day 90 / 365 - Inflated sense of self-worth

Day 90 / 365 - Inflated sense of self-worth by xJasonRogersx.
The only snack food on my shelf in the fridge was a limp stick of celery.
Interesting fact :

An 8-inch stalk of celery contains approximately 6 calories. But the mere act of digesting said stalk burns more than 6 calories, resulting in a negative caloric intake.

I got caught taking this photo by one of my flat mates. Apparently I have the biggest ego of anyone she has know in the last 10 years.
I guess that means anyone doing the 365 thing has an inflated sense of self-worth, I though I was just doing for the fun and the chalenge.

Interesting fact:

The word ego is taken directly from Latin where it is the nominative of the first person singular personal pronoun and is translated as "I myself" to express emphasis. Ego is the English translation for Freud's German term "Das Ich."

In modern-day society, ego has many meanings. It could mean one’s self-esteem; an inflated sense of self-worth; or in philosophical terms, one’s self. However, according to the psychologist Sigmund Freud, the ego is the part of the mind which contains the consciousness.

I like how it looks as though you're hiding in this shot (which is ironic, considering your roommate found you taking the picture!).

And I say bah! on the 365 = big ego bit. I find that a lot of 365ers actually have a diminished sense of self-worth and, by taking pictures of themselves daily for an entire year, are forcing themselves to both seriously self-reflect and learn to accept their flaws. Yup.

Thanks guys.
I would would agree with the 'diminished sense of self-worth'.
Before doing the 365 thing, I have no pictures of me. I hate people taking pictures of me. I hate pictures that have been taken of me.

"Even celery, known for being low in caloric value, contains enough sugars (including sucrose, glucose and galactose) to easily compensate for the cost of (energy invested in) chewing it"

well.

I got home late, wander into the kitchen in search for food, and walk into a photostudio. Complete with tripod and remote control.

All that to take a picture of oneself.

It wasn't quite like that. I was walking out the kitchen with the tripod under my arm and a desklamp in hand - Thats all.
