Day 290 / 265 - In search of a title ( high contrast black and white )

    My day 283 was my most interesting photo to date. I thought I'd try something similar again with an over exposed background.

      lighting is nice, but i was just wondering... what emotion is actually portrayed by the photo? well for starters, yes it would seem like its "EMO" or "lonely" or "broken" but it lack elements to support the said emotion,.. first up, the lighting, well the lighting is nice id give you that, but whats so lonely about sitting in too much light? id say the lighting was too much for its own good,.. second is the model himself, the outfit is perfect, but the body contours are so, stiff... i mean having his hair cover his face is perfect, but try to picture this guy with his legs just an inch closer and tighter to him, his arms, should be wrapped around his legs, and at least show one of his hands ( of course you know that emotion can be shown in two ways, hands and eyes ) then show his hands grasping on the sleeves of his shirt, then just let his head tuck a bit in between his arms and legs... for the lighting, try to make the bground a little darker, and let just a gleam of light show, this will give it a more "alone"appeal... this is a nice photo, dont get me wrong but to me it seems more of a "bored teenager exhausted from throwing tantrums because they just moved to a new house" rather than emo sorry, its only my opinion anyway.. :)

      Thanks for the comment. And I agree. When I took the picture I was playing and experimenting with light, i.e over exposing the background. This was part of the 365 project, so it was a picture of myself taken by myself. so was not really possible to see what I was taking.

      Indeed I had no title for the picture and hence it was originally titled "Day 290 / 265 - In search of a title"

      The photo has been interpreted by others and used used by others in various context and I have back-tagged the photo as such.

      Maybe I'll take you comments and try a real emotional picture :-) Maybe a theme for a week.

      :) i applaud your professionalism and am greatly humbled by taking those insights of mine as a friendly advice..

      this is really a great photo and i really enjoyed your work, i spent at least half an hour staring and appreciating photos on your album, great job, especially human interest subjects,..

      what can i say, a great photographer with a humble attitude, dude, if given a chance to see you and work with you (thats if i get the chance to go to the U.S. heehee ), id gladly do so... :)

      (now that you mentioned it, yeah, sorry if i assumed that this is an "EMO" photo... stupid me,..X-) coz when i typed in emo in the search field this photo popped out and caught my eyes... again my apologies :) )
