Victoria Street lights at night, Old town, Edinburgh, Scotland

    Newer Older

Around the bend on Victoria St. in Old Town Edinburgh.

It was snowing/sleeting quite heavily when I took this photo. I forgot to pack my lens hood on this trip, so I had to DIY one out of business cards and duct tape (never leave home without it!). Even with this extremely solid contraption I was still getting water drops all over my lens, so I had to continually go into coffee shops to wipe my lens off, resulting in an extreme caffeine overload :P I stood in this spot for about 30 minutes waiting for the right car to pass by... It's definitely a waiting game to get great light trails.

    Canon 5DMK3+16-35mm, 8s at f/16, ISO 200.

This is great. It's interesting to see the city I live in through the eyes of a visitor. Also Victoria Street is much easier to photograph when people aren't wandering into shot (obliging vehicles with tail lights for trails are always welcome though!).
