Black Mountain, Kentucky Sunrise #1

While visiting my mom this weekend, my daughter and I got up early to drive up Black Mountain, Kentucky's highest peak, to get a shot of the sunrise.

This shot is from an apple orchard just west of the summit.

A mountain this big needs to be seen large and on black.

Really Nice Photo..Some of my Family live at the bottom of the mt. I visit there often from NC. Did you know there is an old indian burrial ground right about where you were standing? I'ts sometimes hard to find, next time look for large flat rocks spread out in one area.

@Artmom: I grew up in Cumberland but had no idea about the burial ground. I'll check it out next time I'm in the area. That is, when there's not a foot and a half of snow on the ground, like there will be over Christmas when we're there. :)
