Tigers of Pavagadh by ^RedBull^

Tigers of Pavagadh

Pavagadh is a hillstation 30km from Vadodara, Gujarat. It houses the famous Mahakali Temple. Enroute the peak, you come across a large market with shops selling religious photos, VCDs, books, fruits, coconuts, flowers etc.

I was surprised to see a large number of 'photo stalls' lined up. These stalls have a large wallpaper of a forest, digitally merged images of goddesses and interesting props like stuffed tigers, crocodiles and even a mini motorcycle. The tiger, being the most loved prop as Goddess Mahakali rode on a tiger. I was thrilled to see so many photo crazy devotees.

Kids of Adalaj

Little kids crowded into one of the beautifully carved mantaps of Adalaj Vav.

Stepwells or vav are a unique architectural concepy found in India and part of Pakistan. A series of steps lead down to a well. Most of these step wells, like the one in Adalaj are multi storeyd.

Touring Gujarat by ^RedBull^

Touring Gujarat

I will be holidaying at Gujarat for the next 8 days. Coming here from Bangalore was like walking out of a fridge and getting into an oven :-)

Going around Ahmedabad was a very educative tour. I was amazed by the Legend of the Swaying Minarets - Zulta Minar. The rustic areas around Jama Masjid is an eye candy treat to any photographer.

Looking forward to the Dwarka Tour. More pics on their way.
