Mohamed Nasheed (Anni) - July 2003
Anni here is selling books at the National Book Fair 2003, organized by Oriental Academic Center. This picture was taken two months before the infamous jail killings of September 2003. Anni was a vocal critic of Gayyoom and his system even before that event which apparently opened the eyes of a lot of others including political figures of Anni's new government.
Mohamed Nasheed (Anni) is the current president of the Maldives.

Most Maldivians live below the national poverty line. Recent development survey results by the UNDP have not yet been revealed to the public for several years. It is sad that the so-called independent organizations like UN corporate with dictators to misguide people and abuse the population.
Do not re-elect Gayyoom.
