Trading card for local swap. I like this one a lot. It was fun going off the board with the lines.

I did 216 proof pages for pets in 2011, and since some were multiple pet projects I ended up doing around 257 pets. Very busy year. Yes, it is a full time job.

" I love Kunichika"

I really adore the work of Toyohara Kunichika. I think I may have been his mistress in a previous life, at any rate I do know I was Japanese once a long time ago. When I had to create an Asian inspired trading card for a local upcoming swap I decided to steal from the best. I used a small portion from a scanned antique print as a collage element on this one. The black cinca is supposed to mimic Kanji.

To grout or not to grout????

Grouted today... yay, done.
The text in the background on this one is about a type of heart murmur called a "Dove Murmur". I thought that sounded so poetic, and really enjoyed the odd twist of the robot arm holding the anatomical heart. Could a mechanical heart have a dove murmur, probably not? I guess you could design a robot to have a flawed heart if you really wanted to.
