letting go

i absolutely love this photo. My older son, pictured here, is 8 years old today.. I can't believe how time flies. Even tho i'm so proud of how big and competent he's become, part of me is terrified at how fast it's happened..
other parents would understand, im sure.

I've taken a similar shot in my stream (of course, my sky had only 1 measly cloud) of my toddler. Isn't it wonderful when mom wants you to swing until she gets that absolute shot she's looking for?

Absolutely stunning photograph. I have to use the "wow" cliche! What else can one say? You continue to astonish all of us with your excellence. Just on its own it's great, but with the addition of the philosophical thoughts in your caption and some of the comments, it is profound. Yes, I have two daughters, a little older than you, and I remember that age (the best time, in my opinion), but one never does really let go, I think. Another thought: so often, great art is associated with depression (thinking back to your pic of a few days ago).
