Kiesha the Hypo-Allergenic CAT

Kiesha the Hypo-Allergenic CAT

I'm horribly allergic to cats. My throat swells, I get bumps on my neck... don't even ask me about my nose and eyes! So what am I doing owning a cat? It's a long story but the short of it is that there is a breed that is known for having extremely low levels of the elements we humans are allergic to. This cat is the coolest cat on the planet. She chases toys and brings them back, she is totally social and wants to hang out on the floor when I'm cooking. She is totally okay being alone for a while in the back 1/2 of the house and then loves to play with us when everybody comes home in the later afternoon. And the snuggling, oh my.... loudest pur I've ever heard and her fur.... softer than anything I've ever held before.

We're very lucky to have her in our family. She was not an inexpensive investment. But for someone that dislliked cats because of how they make him feel, to now having one I hold, hug and scratch her scruff all the time, it's nothing short of a miracle.

If you have allergies, used to have dogs and wish you had a cat, I totally recommend you check out the Siberian cat breed.

Oh, this shot was taken with my JUST RETURNED 50mm f1.4 lens - After owning it for 6 years and HATING it, I finally broke down and sent it to Canon.... Now.... I LOVE it. Sharper than the cat's whiskers.

The Leaf

The Leaf

Comprised of a number of leafs to make the shape of a larger single leaf, I say goodbye to fall and hello to winter....

I know I know... it might not make much sense, but go along with it..... ; D

Elowah Falls in the Fall

Elowah Falls in the Fall

Beautiful Elowah falls from a couple of weeks ago - amazing how those leafs can magically fall from above into place on the rocks when a photographer shows up.... ;D

Thanks for looking!

Very Early @ Sparks Lake

Very Early @ Sparks Lake

Very early with the sun rising.... I needed some rather strong processing to get the noise floor down... that is partly why it has such a soft look... but I think it works.

Hope you enjoy...

Not Alone.....

Not Alone.....

The final evening we spent camping on the beach, a rare event happened: the sky went totally crystal clear for the night and the Milky Way was directly over us all the way down to the far Western edge of the ocean. This was a shot I hoped to be able to capture someday and the moment so clearly presented itself that I was über excited to walk the beach in the dark to get to this perspective between 2 of the larger sea stacks at the beach.....

For my daughter and her best friend, it was a mind blowing experience. Not easy to explain that each single dot of light in the sky we see is a separate galaxy like ours with a sun like ours & planets circling around....... Oh and the light we're looking at has been traveling for millions of years to finally get to us..... it blows my mind and to see if all so vividly, at low tide at my favorite beach on the planet made the trip more than just a success - my friend Todd and I were able to introduce the universe to our kids - to how small we are in this amazing universe and the concept stuck! After somores and hot cocoa, the girls were ready to pass out because their heads hurt from thinking about what they were seeing....

Hope you all have great times in your own little cubicle of space in this big universe we all share.... ;D
