Ulysses S. Grant & Robert

Drawings Garrett & I made for the first issue of Materiél. We officially kickstarted Part & Parcel at the time and had wanted to use our spread to illustrate a famous duo... which instead led us to focus on a famous rivalry. In keeping it light, which tends to be our M.O, and to "homage" one of our favorite childhood artists we rendered the storied Ulysses S. Grant & General Robert E. Lee in a Hergé/Tintin-style line art.
