Carrol Pruett, Preservationist.

Retired banker and former president of Mid-State Bank is a preservationist. Carrol Pruett has quietly -- over the past 45 years -- collected relics from the banking and business industries: adding machines, calculators, and of course typewriters!

Mr. Pruett has so generously loaned us a few of his vintage typewriters from his private collection for our May 15th Typing in Public event in the City of San Luis Obispo.

Among the typewriters he has lent us, is a Royal Standard No. 5, circa 1914. It belonged to another of the founding directors for Mid-State Bank, Marvin Hartwig. Mr. Hartwig used the typewriter during WWII when he served as an auditor for the US Navy.

Thank you Carrol Pruett!
