Sunrise over ruins in Mesa Verde NP: Click Here for a short, single picture, video slideshow of the sun rising slowly on the ruins.

Mesa Verde has been uninhabited for over 500 years. It is a complex of several ancient Puebloan Indian (aka "Anasazi") cliff dwellings built under the overhanging rock cliffs. The reason the complex was abandoned is not known for sure.
