In 1969 the Army Corps of Engineers de-watered Niagara Falls in order to remove unsightly talus at the base of the Falls. These are photos of what the Falls looked like when they were de-watered. They are photographs I took of 35mm slides originally taken by my in-laws in 1969.

i got the link to your photos from the mental floss website...these are SO awesome. i never knew that niagara falls stopped for a short time! it must have been an incredible sight!
