My latest painting Sunlight Dance was created using a painting sketch beforehand, this enabled me to get a feel for the colours and the theme of the final painting. Next I did a colour wash on the canvas using the information and colour choices used in the first painting sketch. The colour wash design is only a guide but helps me with the creative process, by this stage I have a very good idea of how I want the painting to turn out.

My inspiration for this painting came from a moment in time when I was looking over a bridge on a sunny day a few weeks ago and noticed how the suns rays were dancing on the water, like fireworks, sparkly and energetic. From there I wanted to incorporate this feeling into a painting. What better idea than a huge wave which has all the attributes I was looking for.

The life of an artist is a wonderfully one, to be able to express and to paint your dreams. !!! Priceless !!!
