Not really. The ones who have to use the knocker don't/can't use the keyhole. And, metal on metal+wood would make a louder, perhaps, noise than just metal on wood.

The ones who use the keyhole just push the knocker away.

Errm, no. I didn't. 1) I didn't/don't know anybody in these houses, so no point in knocking about doors and running away. 2) I just came up with that theory (metal + metal) for fun.
