Thought about a horizontal version? I think more wood grain would be great. :)

Hmm, it seems like it might be rather inconvienent to have the knocker over the key hole in that way. However, this is a lovely photogaph!

Not really. The ones who have to use the knocker don't/can't use the keyhole. And, metal on metal+wood would make a louder, perhaps, noise than just metal on wood.

The ones who use the keyhole just push the knocker away.

Hmm, I still think I wouldn't arrange it quite like that. Did you happen to knock on any of these doors to test out the theory of the sounds of metal on metal and metal on wood?

Ravages  Pro User  says:

Errm, no. I didn't. 1) I didn't/don't know anybody in these houses, so no point in knocking about doors and running away. 2) I just came up with that theory (metal + metal) for fun.

Ah yes, but wouldn't that be a lot of fun to knock on someone's door just to say hello even thoughyou don't know them?
