Winter Solstice, Stonehenge
22nd December, the Winter Solstice. Basically, days get longer, people get colder and the insane really go wild.
A bunch of us archaeology students went to Stonehenge, to see the druids and the new age folks get spiritual. Special access for the solstice meant we could actually stand right next to the stones that make the monument that is Stonehenge.
I was impressed. Seeing it in real life for the first time, I understood its extra-ordinary significance and its importance in the scheme of things. It is clear, and this photo shows you, what they were built for.
Cricket stumps!
(P.S: Very noisy and a tad blurred. It was freezing cold, my fingers hurt even to hold the shutter, and there was no light whatsoever.)

Snow baby!, Denmark Street, Bristol
About time, too.
I broke three or four rules of photography that I set for myself. 1) Never get too excited about something to the extent of ruining photo cause your hands shaking. 2) Never use flash in the streets, especially when there's a perfectly lit streetlamp around. 3) I don't know, 4 sounded like a good number of rules to have. 4) Stop making stuff up on the spot.
Anyway, thrilled and excited etc. Snow. A bunch of us made snowballs and fought. My gloves were soaked through and fingers were freezing and yet... My friend socked me on the ear with a viciously large snowball. For the next few days, I am going to concentrate on getting my balance back, and my hearing with it.

Sun, West Kennet Long Barrow, England
Three different versions. Which one do you like?
(The third is a slightly different composition as well.)
