yurt interior

Post card of New York city that I gave to Rasheet. "Too many buildings, too many people" was his assessment.
yurt interior by themexican.
Rasheet in his yurt. He spoke several languages and was always trying to learn more. When he found I spoke Spanish he spent hours learning new phrases from me and steering clear of smalltalk. "No talk, we learn. Word for horse."

His dream was to visit Mecca.

big version.

I love these two photos (the other being his wife outside the yurt)! And thank you for the illuminating captions too.

Looks cozy, considering that it's a portable house. I'd pass on the yak butter tea though, I think.

Most of my travel photos are taken with a Nikon FM2 & a 24mm lens, Kodacolor Gold film. Around the house stuff is generally taken with a Nikon D70.

Viewing that image is a special photographic experience. Rare beauty - execution looks perfect from here, it has a ton of juice visually and limbically and crossing paths with Rashi was an intervention by unseen forces, I'd imagine!

I stayed in Rashid’s yurt a few years ago. Thanks for taking this great shot; it reminds me of good times on Heaven’s Lake.
