Our beloved neighborhood is destroyed. Too many people have lost their lives and too many are injured. Part of the magnificent Centralworld shopping center collapsed, our favorite shop for groceries, BigC is burnt out, many small shops burnt out and looted and the awful smell from smoldering buildings is hanging in the air. On the way back from taking these photos we heard gunfire on the street and together with all people we were running for our lives.

Destruction and chaos is visible everywhere in our neighborhood after the violent end of the red shirt protests.

The iconic golden head in front the Zen stores of Centralworld survived the portests, the fire and the collapse of the building unfazed.

The ZEN part of Centralworld shopping center is burnt and part of it collapsed after radical groups set it on fire after the protest leaders of the Red Shirts gave up on the afternoon of May 19.
