Decided to take a trip up here after seeing the excellent shots from Don Pyle. If you haven't seen his stuff yet, I encourage you to have a look: www.flickr.com/photos/22975693@N02/

While at Abiqua, I ran into this group of local kids that were just there to play on the ice. They were much more daring than I was, and walked all the way out to where they could actually touch the falls.

    Having been born & raised in the mid-Willamette Valley of Oregon, and having been to the Scotts Mills area so many times, this is one of Oregon's waterfalls I've never been to.....(go figure.) Check out Silver Creek Falls (state park) east of Salem....or Multnomah Falls along I-84 east of Portland.....both are absolutely great!!
