If your Yahoo! ID is based in Singapore, Germany, Hong Kong or Korea
you will only be able to view safe content based on your local Terms
of Service so you won’t be able to turn SafeSearch off.
In other words that means, that these users can not access photos on
flickr that are not flagged "safe"
We will not let this happen!
Since Friday afternoon, Flickr even blocks protest photos (maybe by filtering the tags) to appear in the photo explorer.

I live in Germany and Flickr is a big part of my life. I'm very upset that the governments are banning everything from games to censoring photographs. The world is turning into a police state!
Will they ban literature and art next because of its obscene content??

If people want to see uncensored photos they can go elsewhere. All of us Flickr users knew exactly what the terms of use were when we joined so we shouldn't be complaining about censorship now. I'm glad Flickr censors photos.

you come after the war… it was three years ago…
at this time flickr start a new filters system, that allow you to see explicit pictures or hide them.
To protect children, they said. (i don't know any child using flickr)
That's cool indeed, unless if you live in China, Singapore, Germany, Honk-kong…
and explicit pictures are not only porn and violence.
Good for you if you like censors, and you're right if Singapore or China citizens want to see uncensored photos, they just can go to other country.
Entertainment first, Human Rights if it's possible.

irvinetustin you are seriously behind schedule...and btw most did go somewhere else not because they want to see "uncensored" pics but because we were against CENSORSHIP PERIOD and obviously you don't speak for "all of us Flickr users" since you've bypassed the last 3 years of what Flickr users have been doing...

The terms were changed one sidedly by Flicker 3 years ago. I did not agree to those terms when I first signed up. And our protest did hit Flickr and they backed off to some degree from their initial censor guidelines. At least for German users...
