Cinder Cone
This was, quite possibly, the gnarliest incline I've ever hiked. The entire thing is made of volcanic ash. Imagine hiking up a mountain made of coarse, black sand. Yeah.
Add to that a fiercely hot day, punctuated by strange gusts of wind.
But once I made it to the top, I forgot about all of that.
Breathtaking.
