wind-banjo

...this weekend at the Figment Festival on Governors Island. There'll be tons of art and music and an Olafur Eliasson waterfall, and the ferry is free!

I made, um, a wind-powered banjo or something. The lower vane frets one of the strings; that's why the "tune" changes a little now and then.

At the festival, it'll be near Castle Williams. If the weather's good, join me there for a picnic on Saturday afternoon!

That is really cool. And, at least in these winds, quite soothing.

It's enviro-friendly, carbon-neutral sound art! Powered by alternative energy!

Definitely a step up from windchimes. :)

Hi, I'm an admin for a group called * The Long Photo *, and we'd love to have this added to the group!

Very cool! I was thinking... you could add a spinner part to a nut that would raise and lower the pitch of the string as it spun...
