I shot this using an alienbee ringflash in my basement. The lighting is all due to the ringflash being high powered and close to the couple. Then just used lightroom **LOVE** lightroom, to start the editing. CS4 I have a few plugins I use, imagenomic portraiture plugin....which works great. Then the b/w is a custom action I made with a colour tint added. That's pretty much it.

I think it's similar and you have the right idea....this is just like my studio lights, but it can also work as a ringflash too. It's awesome...I love it a lot.
