Notes On Assaults 1

It takes time and effort to fill in the referral form.
So, we won't necessarily add an address for someone who has been a bit aggressive after entering a diabetic hypo, although e may flag it as a possibility that doesn't need police.
Addresses are also flagged for reason such as don not resuscitate orders, or for patients with challenging medical problems.
For example I won't need police for a blind wheelchair-bound patient, but I'll be aware that they may lash out.
The police have much better intelligence as they are part of the Home Office.

The notes I made before heading into the Radio 5 Live studio for a discussion on the flagging of addresses that have been abusive to ambulance staff.
