China Creek Marina on a King Tide

China Creek Marina on a King Tide

It was a cold dreary day when I went to China Creek Marina on the Alberni Inlet to photograph a King Tide for LiveSmart BC's King Tide Project. This area is usually a beach. But this day the tide was so high that the beach was gone and the water was within a foot-and-a-half of the camping area. If there had been a storm, logs could have been tossed onto the camping area.

China Creek Marina breakwater on a King Tide

China Creek Marina breakwater on a King Tide

It was a cold dreary day when I went to China Creek Marina on the Alberni Inlet to photograph a King Tide for LiveSmart BC's King Tide Project. Here you are at the base of the breakwater. Notice some erosion next to the rail fence behind the rip rap.

It was a cold dreary day when I went to China Creek Marina on the Alberni Inlet to photograph a King Tide for LiveSmart BC's King Tide Project. There is still about 4 feet, OK, 1.1 meters of clearance before the marina building starts being flooded.

Fire Investigators

Fire Investigators

The morning after the motel fire, the building was being torn down. There is a rumour that the abandoned hotel had some homeless people squatting in it. I had seen one of the boarded over doors pried open a while ago. I suppose that one of the squatteres could have lit a fire to keep warm and it go away on them.
