veerle, glad you like. i'll have to plan more visits back there. i want to go at different times of the day to see how the sun shines on the house. there may be some unique lighting coming up in the next month or so (with the longest days of the year). usually we'll get some sun in the early morning and later afternoon which shines on the north facade of a building which otherwise never occurs.

also, i took all the images you see with available light, hand-held camera (no flash allowed). i'd like to set up a time where i can use a tripod to shoot some longer exposures and crisper images.

thank you lindy. i love wright's stained glass work, but i knew that just taking the usual photo of the stained glass with light coming through wasn't going to be terribly impressive here. there isn't much colored glass, mostly its clear. then i noticed the shadow it cast on the floor and realized that would capture the form and feeling of the stained glass while seeing it indirectly.

I see you belong to lots of groups already, but do consider joining the Frank Lloyd Wright pool.

They'd like this one.

This is a wonderful shot/composition. Seems you got the angle just Wright! ;)

I grew up near Usonia Road in Pleasantville, NY which is a whole (private) street of Wright homes. I always loved driving down there.

Andrew, sorry it took me so long to get back here. Pleasantville is a mere 45 minute train ride north of Grand Central Station in NYC. It is in Westchester County just south of the new Clinton residence in Chappaqua (home of Reader's Digest -- although they use the Pleasantville post office.)

Here's a map of the area. There is even a Wright Way...but of course. ;)

Vanita . . . a belated thank you for your words. so glad to contribute to a smile.

StarrGazr . . . thanks for the information on the location of the Usonia Road. i grew up in Orange County, not far from there. my only visit though was to try to see and photograph a Richard Meier designed house up in the woods on a hill. do you know it?

keiichi isozaki . . . thank you for your thought. you're not by chance related to Irata are you?

This is a great photo! I thought that Mr. Kraus designed the windows and glass in this house?, not Frank Lloyd Wright. Since Kraus is a designer, Wright allowed him to do the designs.Of course I may be 100% incorrect, but it seemed like that was told to me on the tour.
