After a powerful storm rolled through, we were left with two days of incredible winds that shredded our flag. As I began lowering the flag to remove it, a sadness swelled inside me seeing it so tattered and torn. I love my country very much, but America is tattered and torn.
I think of all the men and women that have given their lives for this country... would they still be proud? Does the younger generations even think about the freedoms they enjoy? Do politicians really care for the country, or the people, or is it just for their own personal gain. Has this freedom we so love, made us quit fighting for what is right, and just so busy and consumed with our own agendas.
America, you are in my heart and prayers. I pray you will not become faded, weathered and brittle, but instead, we, your people, will unite with genuine integrity, honor, love and morals to strengthen you so that in the worst of storms you will be untattered.
