I've MOVED!! Please read!

Well, you can read the above... it's my bio for my small show next month.... pretty cool!

More importantly, I'm moving my Flickr home. I'm doing this for a couple reasons. Mainly, this original Flickr account was created long before I started taking professional gigs and had a lot of old stuff on it that I just didn't want to deal with cleaning up....

Secondly, by starting fresh, I can utilize the full power of JF's Flickr Lightroom plug-in to fully manage all the photos I place here....

So, hopefully you'll join me friends I've gathered over the last year or more, over at my new home:

See you there!

Project 365: Day 206
"DoubleStuff Splash"

Much better and more detailed LARGE, so press 'L' and I'll give you a cookie...

Having never done a 'splash' shot, I've been wanting to do it for some time after Matt made it look so easy, and the fact he did it with all the commotion at the same time. :)

I'm actually pretty happy with this splash, especially since this particular splash was take #1 of 2 takes. The second is pretty good, and I'll probably post it as an outtake. For my first time? Yeah, I'm okay with it.

While the background is pretty bokeh'd, I think a less busy background would be better. Also, a little more DOF than I got with the 3.2 would be good as well. Maybe f/4... but that's only because I'd like more of the drops in focus. Maybe it's fine... Anyway, this shot had a bit of a cloud over it from the start when I discovered my wireless trigger stopped working. Even wired mode it did nothing. Fortunately, I could reach the camera shutter and still drop the cookie, but it made it tougher to drop accurately for sure.

A new remote is on the way.

All in all, not bad for my first ever splash shot.

And yes, several doublestuff Oreos were harmed (eaten) in the making of this image.

Project 365: Day 109
"Tossing Apples"

Inspired by, but executed not nearly as well as, Rebekka Guðleifsdóttir

I think Rebekka still has one of the MOST viewed photos on Flickr with the image that inspired this shot, and which I link to above. If I got 1% of the views on this as she got, I'd be a happy man. :)

This took quite a few shots to get the right angle, lighting, position, etc. Like Rebekka's, this isn't a photoshop fakery (No Neil, it isn't) :) Sure, I did some stuff in Photoshop, but this is a single shot, NOT a composite. I think I should have used a red delicious though instead of a Braeburn... the Braeburns just aren't red enough.

Guitar, vocals, fake dog and hula-hooper... That's Pike Place [EXPLORE]

Guitar, vocals, fake dog and hula-hooper... That's Pike Place [EXPLORE]

Another shot from Saturday's Pike Place Walk-About, and another street musician. The fake-dog keeping him company and the hula-dancer twirling and 'hooping' in time to this guy's music was an interesting sight for sure. This is a popular corner to play as it's right in front of Starbucks, as those spending $7 for cups of coffee obviously have expendable income, right? :-)

Update: I have learned that the dog's master, playing guitar, is Miq. I like having a name with the face!

Project 365: Day 100
"One Hundred Days"

Either press "L" to see all the details of this image, or pay me $100. Just do it...

So, I know I still have a few images to catch up on from last week while in Arizona, but with today being day 100 of my 365, I just HAD to do a creative image. I tossed around a bunch of ideas, and the result is a mesh of several.

This was actually FUN. I was laughing the whole time while on Photoshop, doing this, doing that. I fretted over imposing my face on the bill and being able to get it to blend okay, but it actually turned out okay. I can now say I'm on money.

I'm so excited I've made it ONE HUNDRED DAYS!! Whoop! This project has been a lot of fun, and it's great to have the support of my family, friends and fans as I plug along with each image as whack as some of them may be.

I've also enjoyed seeing my Flickr friends move along in their own 365, and am proud of all of them that have made it this far. I don't get a chance to comment on all of them, but I appreciate them and enjoy all the images posted. Especially the ones with stories or posts to accompany.

I have 4 or 5 days left to fill in my 365, and I'll try to pick up tomorrow in between work and catching up on all the work e-mails I missed over the last week.

Note: no stock image was harmed in the creation of this defacement of US Government property. All aspects of this image were either captured or created by me.

Those who identify one or more customizations in tags or comments get extra special love and faves! :)

This image is actually a composite of 4 images: First is the 100 dollar bill, but since it didn't have all the numbers I needed, I had to photograph 2 other bills to get the serial numbers. Then, of course, my own image. Other parts are included in photoshop using the 'Legal Tender' font and 'Arial' fonts, and matching colors of the bill. All said and done, the final PS file was 15 layers.
