Due to engineering works between Leeds and Wakefield, East Coast trains were being diverted via Hambleton. While all of the other runs were made with HSTs, running through Wakefield Kirkgate and then reversing out of Westgate, 1D13 was hauled by a Class 67 from Retford into Leeds missing out the Wakefield stop entirely. The combination would later departure back south on the 1647 1A43 service to London.
