TTC 1988-1989 New Flyer D40 - #6420-#6434, #6440-#6521
This section contains some photos of TTC's 1988 and 1989 New Flyer D40 fleet. The first batch, numbered 6420-6434, are 1988 New Flyer D40s. They are equipped with a Detroit Diesel 6V71N engine, and an Allison V731ATEC transmission. All these buses are based out of Queensway Division. The second batch, numbered 6440-6521, are 1989 New Flyer D40s. They are also equipped with a Detroit Diesel 6V71N engine, and an Allison V731ATEC transmission. The difference between the 1988 and 1989 D40s is that 1988 D40s have silver window frames, while the 1989 D40s have black window frames. All these buses were based out of Queensway Division before retirement. All buses in this series are retired from revenue service.
