Well I have to say, this really disappoints me. I just wrote an article about how immature McCain and Palin are, how this is a fight for America, and bigoted behaviors shouldn't be tolerated by the right. Now, I get this link from someone on the right saying what "class" Democrats have.. he says "too bad its third class".

You seem pretty young, but its truly no excuse for this type of behavior. I don't at all agree with Palin as a politician, but as a woman, she has made strides that will hopefully help women move higher in the future.

Too bad you don't seem to respect the boundaries between politics and hate.

Why is the left so intolerant of others? This is disgusting and vile behavior. Whatever you might think about Palin, she certainly has more class than these two morons. I'll bet their parents are soooo proud.

Hmmm.. rethinking the whole abortion thing based on this photo.

As someone said earlier, your parents must be VERY PROUD. They probably wasted a lot of money on an "education" for their little pride & joy & this is the end result of what your tiny little brain could come up with as a way of political rebuttal. Kudos.

This type of behavior is why many people have such a poor opinion of liberals and Democrats. And you're supposed to be the tolerant ones. I'd be ashamed. Total lack of tact and class.

Albeit as disgusting as it is, being in America, you are certainly entitled to your opinion and have the right to express it. As a matter of fact, Sarah Palin's son, Track, is in the military defending your right to wear your repulsive shirt.

morons.

It would be nice if this were an isolated case of anti-Palin vitriol. Unfortunately, it's not unusual:

Elitists with Market Pantry bottled water. How quaint.

Btw, the word "cunt" is Dutch. It means vagina. The boob on the right owns one. No balls on the left. Typical.

SAD. Do you guys have any sense? Do you know that this picture will now stay with you for the rest of your lives? It will resurface when you are looking for a job, reference, teaching your children, etc. Your youth is no excuse for the huge amount of STUPIDITY you both have shown. Also, your hypocrisy will follow you now forever. It's one thing to disagree with a political party but this goes beyond disagreement.

oh yeah - and did you know that plastic water bottles are bad for the environment.

To ONLINEWOMAN - I would hope that at some point you add a paragraph and let your readers know that disgusting behavior isn't owned by the right. This is a perfect example.

This has been linked on Michelle Malkin dot com and you guys are now the poster child for tolerance.

I need to go take a bath now. Hopefully one day you will have a change of heart in the way you choose to show your political flavor.

This sort of thing is why, just this year, I left the Democratic party after 25 years, my whole adult life. I am now a registered Republican. I don't know what my former party has become -- I no longer recognize it. This is NOT the party of Kennedy and Roosevelt and Clinton. It's the party of the Obama Fascists. Isn't it odd how the liberal media rarely report this sort of thing from Dems? Only when Republicans say something offensive (or, more often, when they try to twist their words into something offensive) does it get reported. Thanks to people like you, I will be voting Republican down the line this year. If the candidate has an "R" next to his name, he's getting me vote.

Wow -- I just want to follow up all of the comments above with a few things:

First, I took the picture, but I don't know these people and so your comments about/to them aren't reaching your intended audience. There were lots of other folks taking pictures of them too but I guess somehow my photo got noticed.

That said, I agree with a lot of what has been said about their objectionability. I included them in my photos because they were a pretty visible part of the protest, not because I agreed with them -- but I had actually reconsidered after having a discussion with some other folks, and was coming on here to delete the photo. Now that I see all of these comments, I think maybe I might leave it up as a public record ... but I'm feeling mixed about that.

I don't usually buy into the "civilized discourse" argument -- that is, that we should treat all people with respect, even when they're engaged in passing dehumanizing and inhumane policies. (As Tony Kushner says, civic discourse is more important than civil discourse.) But treating someone who supports wars of imperialism or subjugating entire swathes of the population because of their citizenship status or love interests with justified contempt isn't quite the same as invoking misogynist language against someone you disagree with.

So for now I'm going to leave this up so people can continue to discuss and comment on it. But I'm willing to be swayed into taking it down or posting a censored version if it's simply too triggering to people. I'd especially be interested in hearing from women, since I'm a guy, and I don't want to make assumptions about what's triggering to women.

For the record, I'm not a Democrat or a Republican (or a Libertarian, for that matter).

After this is over women are going to have very little trust that women give themselves any role beyond cheerleader support staff against other women. It didn't begin with Palin. It began with Hillary--remember Randi Rhodes calling Geraldine Ferraro and Hillary Clinton F****** W*****? .

Quixo, trust me, Rhiannon-Marie Valpo (in the photo) has placed her t-shirts at every independent on-line selling site. hmaxwell  Pro User  says:

As a woman, here is why this word revs my temper into the red zone and pins it there:

C*** is a word that means vagina. Which only women have--obviously. Yet in American English it is one of the most hateful words, if not the most hateful, that you could ever hurl at those of the female persuasion.

So basically, the most awful, disgusting, vile epithet you can shout at a woman is to call her...a woman. It's the ultimate put down--noting out loud and publicly that this person you are keen to insult not only has a vagina, she IS one.

In using such a word, these folks are calling the Republican Vice-Presidential candidate *woman* with a lower case "w," and using her woman-ness as a cudgel to beat her back into her place. It was the worst thing they could come up with at that moment (and it takes no great imagination, trust me). Worse still is the fact these mental giants pictured above are trying to remind Gov. Palin and everyone else that, though she aspires to one of the highest offices in the land, she is *JUST A WOMAN.* That makes me see red. To call these spoiled children ass hats is to insult asses everywhere.

Think I'm overreacting? It is not coincidental that some of the worst insults directed at men in America follow on this theme: p***y, c**k sucker, etc. Again, the vilest terms involve either female genitals or something that women do to male genitals. In addition to women, these words are hurled by idiotic people at gay men or any man said idiots wish to denigrate by lowing their station to...woman. Or rather, JUST A WOMAN.

Seeing a trend here? The nasty, misogynistic sub-text of colloquial English in America makes many of us want to puke. Including those of us who are not normally pegged to be card-carrying feminists.

hmaxwell  Pro User  says:

Having said all of the above, I want to point out I will strongly defend the right of anyone to use such words if they so desire, being that we live in America and not Afghanistan under Taliban rule. However, I reserve the right to instantly dismiss the intelligence, morals, and/or common decency of the person who throws these words around as an effort to shame or degrade anyone, male or female. And I will point out how much worse their offense is because they are directing these hate-filled words at a woman whose only crime is to hold views with which they disagree. I mean, really--have we sunk so low?

Signed,

A disgusted Independent who is tired of the petulance, intolerance, and cruelty on both sides of the aisle.

PS Lest you think I'm completely devoid of humor, I will point out that in most of the other former English Colonies, w/the exception of Canada, c*** does not have the baggage it does in America. It is more in line with "chick" or something. One time I walked into a bar in Australia accompanied by my new friend, a statuesque and lovely German girl. The bartender looked her up and down with admiration and said "You're a tall c***, aren't you?" He was not being insulting; the word just means something different down under. However, mention the word "fanny" to them (as in fanny pack) and watch them wince. I found it quite hilarious, and confess I regularly asked my English and Australian friends where my fanny pack was just to watch their reaction. It's another humorous case of people divided by a common language.
