i guess they don't use megaphone in any other song. it's funny, how you can tell they're going to play orange crush just by it. how was the concert? i'm going to see them in three weeks in budapest for the first time (last time they played in my hometown prague i was so disspapointed with their then-recent album around the sun that i decided not to go but this time i'm really looking forward to see them).

well. this was the 4th time i was in an r.e.m. concert (1995, 1999, 2005 and now). really, you are gonna have fun! they are hot now! first time, i saw them with "monster" was great, and because it was my first time, so i have a good memory of it… second one was good too, and playing "new adventures…" almost at all, withe some old hits as "the one i love", "fall on me"… third… pufff… so bad. it was with "around the sun" and… well, just to say they play "7 chinesse bros", and this was the only moment i was happy… and now… well, it was incredible, and more incredible because there were 2000 people as max.!!! it was like watch them in the sofa, in your saloon!!! great, with a great setlist (as you can see)… really, they are in a good streak!

yeah, they seem to be in a supergreat mood lately. i went to interview them at a press junket in vienna in 2004 and it was as if they knew how poor an album they've released - behaving in a very professional, yet rather self-contained way (actually i just talked to peter buck). nowadays you can almost see confidence oozing from their every onstage move. i don't usually go and call a musician "fucking genius" but i think jacknife lee really deserves this credit for doing miracles with what once was a slowly-but-apparently dying rock band. and to see let me in being brought to life seems like a dream come true. hope they'll shuffle the setlist a bit and add country feedback, i'll take the rain or sing for the submarine..

well. i dont usually say anithing about producers, you know. i think musicians are the artist and producers just "cookers"… but, really, this guy seems to have done a great job…
in other way, "let me in" was great, everyone on the stage, around the piano and "country feedback" has been added in other shows but not in this. i saw it in the 1999 show. it was a great moment, but since i heard him (MS) saying "this is my favorite song in the r.e.m. catalogue" about "fall on me" (mtv unplugged 1991), well, i had dubts about wich one to choose… you know, looking at him and thinking about "why he is moving like this?" or "why he´s singing looking back!"… and, well, i choose either! jajaja!
have fun! i hope you see "country…"!
