Zombie Kickball 2008

The third annual Zombie Kickball game took place in Portland, Maine on June 29. Morning thunderstorms cleared up in time for the huge crowd of spectators, photographers, and zombies to have fun, stagger around, and scream for brains.

This year had the biggest turn out yet, probably in part due to local press coverage. A huge crowd watched as zombies kicked - or tried to kick - the ball and stagger towards first base.

One of my favorites was the zombie in the bathrobe with his hand caught in a toaster.

Another fave was the zombie with a shovel stuck straight up from his motorcycle helmet, who careened right past first base and kept going until he smashed into the right field fence.

I was glad to see a bunch of kid zombies this year, too.

Another great year for zombie kickball!! Can't wait until next year's game!
