Not in Daily service

Not in Daily service

Having previously operated wedding limousines, the first recorded PSVs in the Walters Limousines of Bicester fleet arrived in October 2003 for a newly-won tender. This was mainly operated by council-supplied Optare Aleros but an Iveco was also purchased, seemingly for use as a backup vehicle. Number 3 (H754 GTM) came from Hertfordshire County Council and had a Mellor body with a wheelchair lift, presumably being acquired in preference to a more conventional service bus as it met the route's accessibility requirements. It would be scrapped after working here for three years.

Transit Trekking around the city

Transit Trekking around the city

Observing the bus movements in Milton Keynes city centre on this particular day in 2004, one of Transit Group's usual UVM Trekas was not in evidence, similar but anonymous Y335 PNW taking its place. I believe this one was leased from Dawsonrentals by Bucks County Council as a spare vehicle to supply to operators for short periods while their council-owned buses were off the road, as I have also seen photos of it running on council services with Walters Limousines.

Forest of Dean

Forest of Dean

The fourth Volvo B10M to join the Koncept Travel fleet came from an operator in the Forest of Dean, a strange coincidence as the boss's name is Dean Wood! This Jonckheere-bodied vehicle had been new to Park's as L754 YGE and was purchased via a local auction from Dukes Travel of Cannop. This photo taken when newly acquired is a rare one showing the L243 FNP registration, as it only gained this mark just before changing hands, having previously been H4 GBD, and was very soon re-registered again as MKZ 7214.

Charlton Cruiser

Charlton Cruiser

The preference for Leylands at Charlton Services even extended to the recovery vehicle, Cruiser A630 NFC presumably being a converted artic unit. Carrying the name "Lady Penelope", it was licensed at the time but looked as though it didn't see a lot of use.

Astra-logy

Astra-logy

The only ancillary vehicle operated by Koncept Travel to date was this early Mark 3 Vauxhall Astra van. Formerly used by a mobile disco with sponsorship from this operator, J627 PJO later became part of the early fleet but has long since left and is presumed now scrapped as it no longer appears on the DVLA's online system. The white car behind was a rare Matra-Simca Bagheera which was hopefully stored here pending restoration but disappeared shortly afterwards.
