Nice!
But that photoshopping is a bit toooooo
obvious, ain’t it (word “DESIGN” looks too
even)? And i would remove the diagonal shadow
on the pole (the one from the left panel, the
small one right below the middle panel, which
is facing us, is ok), it is not right when
you look atthe stones shadows.
But besides that: i Love it! So simple and
such a great statement.

Thanks for the comment but I didn't really
do any photoshopping to the image accept to
remove the original wording on the sign. The
shadows are the sun!

Following the tips about the look of the
wording, how about playing around with the
layer settings so that you can see a little
of the wood grain underneath? Or if they are
meant to be vinyly, then maybe just a hint of
a drop shadow to give a little depth? But
overall, I like how clean it looks, even
without any changes. And I agree with you on
the lighting. That's just how it is, I don't
think you need to change it.

I don't think you need to change the shadows
either, that's just how it is.
And I also don't think it'd be better to
change the text. I like how it looks, clean
and neat, it's obviously not meant to look
like it's actually painted on the sign. Good
job!

OOps, really? I thought that sign is from
somewhere else, not from Mt. San Gorgino...
Well, i still think that the big shadow is a
bit distracting. But anyways. What magicalobizuth said about the vinyl wording, “maybe just a
hint of a drop shadow to give a little depth”
— i second that.
Not for the contest, but for printing it
out for the wall ;)

i actually like the difference in styles
between the sign text and the photograph. It
adds to the cleanliness of the image, even if
artificially.
