Another angle of the gravestones seen in this picture, as well as one of the two Guard Dog statues. See the note for the link.
This is one of the pictures I edited using Google Picasa and then
uploaded from
Picasa to Flickr using GMail.

Virgin Mobile have used your photograph in a full page advertisement in NW Magazine, Australia, 14 May 2007.
Congrats.

I would love to get a scan or pdf or link to the ad. Anyone know how I might get a copy? (I've sent a request to Virgin Mobile, but I suspect that I'd need to find out what agency made the ad)

sent you a flickr mail

The ads are also on billboards at train stations - I saw your pic at Martin Place station in Sydney.

I've just been reading more and more about the images being used from Flickr..
It's kind of cool in a way, but one of the ads in particular used the image of a young female and the caption was somewhat insulting.. I really think they should've tried to contact the subjects/photographers and check whether it was OK before using the images. It doesn't seem like they asked anyone's permission beforehand.

Well, the thing about the CC Attribution-Only license is that you are telling other people, "go ahead, use this picture as you wish, just credit me," without any requirement to tell the photographer or even be "nice" with the photo. So I guess this license isn't for the faint of heart...
On the other hand, if you sell your photo to a stock photo bank, the same things apply... people who buy your photo can use it however they like.
But I would prefer fame instead of money, and this license certainly has gotten me a bit of fame!

Hey this is wrong in the U.S and other countries you need a release if your going to use a image for a comercial perpose. If a person is clearly and image and in the forground you need a release. They stole your property which is wrong. They gave themselves bonuses instead paying a photographer. You should be getting some kind of money plus they never told you of there intent. Its your image and someone just said screw you and is getting payed. People are stealing your crativity ad making money off it click all right reserved.

Um, "engraved_cell," was that some kind of bulk comment posted to all of the VM pics? Because there's no person in the image. And I clearly indicated that nobody stole my picture. I did get notified, by a reader of a magazine who saw my photo and its attribution. And I got a bonus too, I got a picture of mine used on billboards and magazines in Australia! Doesn't sound wrong to me.
And I should warn you, if you post good pictures to Flickr, people will steal them. If you choose "all rights reserved," you're making them into criminals when they use your photos, and so they're not going to even credit you. That sounds like a bad deal.

Hey, here's a couple of photos of one of the billboards that I'm on (in a subway station)!

Engraved Cell seems very upset for someone that has no pictures posted on flickr. He has posted this rubbish on every VM ad photo.
I half expect to see a line at the end saying I am a lawyer call me.
Personally I would love to see one of my photos used in an ad like this.
