Kate and our needle felted bat!

This is our felt spectral bat (Vampyrum spectrum) made to scale. The spectral bat is the biggest bat in the neotropics and feeds on smaller bats and birds. The bat is part of our night time projects and now hovers in our studio.

A Pleistocene Landscape? Heck cattle in Oostvaardersplassen (Netherlands)

The heck cattle are product of a Nazi experiment that tried to re-create the mythic aurochs (Bos primigenius) via back-breeding. They pretty much got, except that the aurochs used to average 2m tall and these are only about 1,6m at the most. As an ancestral species geek, to see these animals was a total joy to me.
