After nightfall, the last open field before the wood lot is almost always filled with the green blinking lights of fireflies, otherwise known as lightning bugs.
It is absolutely incredible to watch in silence.

We just witnessed firefly's like this here in South Dakota. I was unable to capture it with my camera, and wanted to share with my blogging friends the experience. So happy to find your wonderful picture and hope you don't mind if I use it to describe the wonderful experience of watching fireflys on a summer night in South Dakota!
