i'm applying for a different position within my current department, and it's still just as stressful. i suck at interviews, even when they're with people i've known for years. even though i've been on interview panels for dozens of other people.
in addition to the exemplary written communication skills i boast on my resume (which are thoroughly well-recognized by several of my superiors), i include speaking skills as well. i think that could be considered lying. i only get lively and fluent when i'm angry. uuugh. in other news, here's a typical conversation between my mom and me (held this afternoon as i was driving home from work): mom: "guess what i'm doing saturday night." me: "what?" "having a toy party." "like a sex toy party?" "yeah!" "is sarah [my 14-year-old sister] invited?" ":laughs: no, doug's going to have to find something to do with her that night." "she'd totally be grossed out anyway. you can never talk sex with her." "i know. and get this, since i'm hosting it i get a discount. i'm gonna get something expensive." "you should get a rabbit!" apparently normal people don't have these kinds of discussions with their parents. we're an open-bathroom-door kind of family. 8/12/08 22:47 CommentsWould you like to comment?Sign up for a free account, or sign in (if you're already a member). |
