Passport photos of American musician who traveled to Europe in the 1910's and 1920's to introduce jazz to the continent. many of these players were recruited by bandleaders such as Joe Jordan, Dan Kildare, Louis A Mitchell, and Will Marion Cook. They played in groups such as Mitchell's Jazz Kings, The Southern Syncopated Orchestra and The New York Syncopated Orchestra.
