Another List -- 31 January 2009

    Newer Older

Another list... of things I didn't get done. I don't know where the time goes.

The two hour nap I took in the middle of the day possibly impacted my productivity. Then again, I doubt I would have been very productive without the nap. I've been dragging the past couple of days.

Maybe I should start making a list of what I'm doing with my time every hour, just to see where the days go. A lot of days, I spend way too much time sitting with the computer, living vicariously through the lives of other people... people who actually have lives. Today I did not do that, however; I only came online this evening, about 90 minutes ago, to upload some photos. Still, the day disappeared, largely unproductively.

I wrote this list in a Moleskine notebook. I have a couple of Moleskines. I like them. But they're too nice to write in. Or at least, too nice to write pedestrian stuff like "to do" lists in. But what's the point of having notebooks lying around if you're afraid... yes, afraid... to write in them? So I wrote in this one today. I wrote a stupid list. A list of stuff I didn't get done.

I put little asterisks next to the "priorities." Still didn't get most of the priorities done. Couldn't find something I thought I had, which seriously impacted my ability to do one of the things. Still, I shoulda got more done. Some of it I shoulda had done days ago.

    Enough whining already.

Hay dude, This is a great shot. I love how the blue ink stands out. Nice lighting.....

I can help you with the dive trip. Ask me how the next time we speak.

I really like this shot! The focus of it really shows how much you need to do.

And BTW, my list has more things by ten times than that. And I haven't even written it!

Write it, then photograph and post your list, Maya!

      I write so many lists....
just to keep my brain together.

Sometimes I need lists for my lists.

I'm keeping the little notebook companies in business!

I LOVE lists. Hey, my moleskin notebook looks like that too! I haven't checked off very many items today.

Funny, I'm the same way with nice new journals/notebooks. I feel bad messing them up with my awful handwriting.
My "to do" lists are usually on sticky notes. I have a LOT of sticky notes!

The best productivity tool I have seen recently is a stack of post-it style notes that say "I will do ONE THING today. THING: ___________"

I think if I could consistently get "one thing" done every day for a month, I might kick it up to two things.

Oi... Looking at your list made my head hurt... I used to make lists but then never did anything about them. And knowing/seeing that made me more anxious.

I'm totally the master of procrastination. I ALWAYS end up doing things last minute and end up racing around like a crazy, headless chicken. And I hear ya about the diary/notebook thing! I have several notebooks and I either forget them or don't want to muck them up with my crazy thoughts!!! *Gah*
