As you go about your weekend flickr friends♡....may you indeed be kind to others even if they irritate you to no end.....and may I remember this above all.....warm hugs to you all...Pat
For you bird lovers:
I've declared our 8x12 foot patio off limits to squirrels....it's a birds' world only. This young cardinal is still being fed by Mr. C...Mrs. C. is the 'encourager' but does not feed this young one. He is to the point of taking some seed on his own finally (Oct. 20)...and I worry because winter is coming and will he make it. Mr. C. has come to the patio for several years (how do I know?....bird behavior), but this is the first year I've taken care to keep squirrels away, and so the little family visits daily.....sometimes even with me sitting out there, a few feet from the seed.
The juncos are coming now too, on their migratory route, and the chickadees swooping in and out are a constant delight.
Of environmental interest re: Chernobyl aftermath
I've come across an interesting video on what's happening after the nuclear disaster 25 years ago; there is still a dead zone where people can't live....but the vegetation/wild life are inhabiting the region.
I've included the link to the video, aired on PBS Wed. eve (Oct. 19th.)....for US and territories only although DVDs are available for sale....there is much to think about.
