Tuschinski Theater
|
A closer look at the Tuschinski Theater,
taken during the IDFA 2008 use of the
cinema, which is one of the most
gorgeous theaters in the world today.
Many of the photos are panoramas and
have been uploaded in a larger size so
you can enjoy the stunning detail of the
many decorations in the cinema.
Photos were taken with my old Sony
Cybershot camera, as it fits in the
pocket of my pants and can quickly be
used in covert photo actions, but it's
renditions of the colors aren't always
realistic, which is also due to the poor
lighting conditions of many of the
photos.
Tuschinski is full of vivid, vibrant
and saturated colors, which can be seen
better by the naked eye when the many
rooms, auditoiriums, corridors and
hallways are well lit. Hopefully
someday I can try again with a proper
digital SLR, some flashes and a tripod
and loads of spare time, although
there's also the awesome book
"Theater Tuschinski - Restauratie
van een Droom" about the lengthy
and costly but highly rewarding
restoration that was done in the
Nineties by Pathé.
